A few New Viltrox AF E-Mount Lenses Announced and a New Full Frame 7artisans…

Hello everybody and I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving today for those that celebrate 😉 In this quick article I wanted to let you know about a few new very interesting lenses that are now available for the Sony E-Mount camera system. They are all very affordable when compared to the available Sony lens options in particular! So, for those on a budget wanting super fast glass, this article is totally for you!!

Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 Lens

For starters we have the new Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 Lens which is going for a very modest $279 US. Now, when compared to the comparable Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN lens which currently goes for $429 US, you can see why this new Viltrox is so appealing to those on a budget wanting a killer fast lens with autofocus like this. 56mm works out to an effective ~85mm lens which is dial for portraits and so much more. I use my Sigma lens for a lot of product photography and video in particular, so I’m looking forward to comparing my Sigma to this new Viltrox.

Viltrox 33mm f/1.4 Lens

Next we have the NEW Viltrox 33mm f/1.4 Lens which is going for $259 US. Now when compared to the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN lens which goes for ~$289 US, this is not as much of a difference in price as the new Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 lens above. However, it is still awesome to see another super fast autofocus lens option for the APS-C E-mount cameras. 33mm vs 30mm is very similar, but that extra 3mm will yield a slightly more tight field of view at the end of the day. Also, I recently reviewed the Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 Lens which you can check out here, and the Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 Lens which you can check out here if your interested in seeing what you can expect from these new Viltrox lenses…

7artisans 50mm f/1.05 Lens

Lastly we have the new 7artisans 50mm f/1.05 Lens which is made for the full frame e-mount cameras unlike the two new Viltrox lenses above which are made for the APS-C e-mount cameras. Full frame coverage lenses, encase you are unaware, require much larger glass elements which will ultimately result in a larger lens with more weight. With that being said this lens looks awesome and I can’t wait to get my hands on one for review 😉 It’s going for ~$486 US, which considering the all metal build and insanely fast aperture that is a very reasonable price point in my opinion. Time will tell how the optical quality holds up, but based on the 7artisans 35mm f/0.96 Lens I recently reviewed here >>, I’m expecting it to be pretty darn awesome in the real world.
